DANA HARTA DAN DANA PENCEN BELI SAHAM TIME DOTCOM

Para analis meramalkan kelembapan ekonomi A.S. akan menggugat ekspot barangan Malaysia. Indeks BSKL turun lagi selepas 7 hari. Dow Jones ditutup pada paras di bawah 10,000 (paras Oktober). Ini petanda bahawa kelembapan ekonomi menghantui bukan sahaja syarikat teknologi.

Perhatikan Time DotCom Bhd. yang mungkin aktif setelah Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Bhd. dan Kumpulan Wang Amanah Pencen membelanjakan RM 1.17 billion untuk membeli saham Time dotCom dari penjamin-penjamin (from underwriters)

Respon terhadap saham terbesar yang pernah di IPO kan itu memecah rekod kerana ia paling kurang diminati pelabur. Ini membayangkan majoriti pelabur tidak yakin dengan saham tersebut.

Dengan Dana Harta dan Dana Pencen membelinya - nampak jelaslah ia satu lagi kes menyelamatkan kroni dengan titik hasil titik peluh rakyat semua. Dengan pembelian mencecah lebih satu bilion - ia menggambarkan penjamin memang tidak mampu menyokongnya lama-lama.

Apakah kedua-dua dana ini lebih pandai dari semua pelabur dan (penjamin juga) di dalam dan luar negara? Atau mereka memang buta kerana arahan dari atas yang sudah tiba? Nampaknya rakyat terpaksa mencari kerja lain lagi walaupun sudah pencen berkerja. Itulah balasan kerana memangkah BN yang teramat sayang kroni melebihi sayang kepada semua - sedangkan warga pencen menyumbang pelbagai bakti kepada kemajuan negara.

Malaysian Stocks Seen Falling for a 7th Day, Led by Telekom

Kuala Lumpur, March 15 (Bloomberg) -- Malaysian stocks may fall for a seventh day on concerns a slowing U.S. economy will hurt demand for Malaysian-made goods, crimping profit. Telekom Malaysia Bhd. may pace the decline.

Yesterday, the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index fell 0.30, or 0.04 percent, to 682.33, its sixth day of decline. It has fallen 3.4 percent in that period. The broader KL Emas Index dropped 0.36, or 0.2 percent, to 157.04.

The following shares may be active on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. Share prices are from Wednesday's close unless otherwise stated.

Some of the country's large capitalized stocks may fall after the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed below 10,000 for the first time since October on signs the economic slowdown in the U.S. is extending beyond technology companies. Telekom Malaysia Bhd. (T MK ), the nation's biggest phone company, was unchanged at 11.80 ringgit. Resorts World Bhd. (RNB MK ), owner of Malaysia's sole casino and Asia's largest cruise operator, fell 10 sen, or 1.6 percent, to 6.10 ringgit. It has fallen 15.3 percent over the last six days. Unisem Bhd. (UNI MK ), the country's second largest publicly traded chipmaker, fell 15 sen, or 1.9 percent, to 7.60 ringgit. It has fallen 6.2 percent over the last six days.

Commerce Asset-Holding Bhd. (CAHB MK ), the country's second largest lender, may be active after it offered to buy up all remaining units in First Malaysia Property Trust that it does not own. Commerce Asset said it will liquidate the trust after buying it.

Hong Leong Bank Bhd. (HLBK MK ) may be active. Malaysia's sixth largest lender said second quarter profit ended Dec. 31 fell 1.1 percent, to 101.6 million ringgit ($27 million), or 7.4 sen a share from the same period a year ago. Hong Leong fell 2 sen, or 0.6 percent, to 3.12 ringgit.

Hong Leong Credit Bhd. (HLC MK ) may be active. The owner of more than two-thirds of Hong Leong Bank Bhd. said second quarter profit ended Dec. 31 fell 25.6 percent, to 59.8 million ringgit, or 13.4 sen a share from the same period a year ago. The stock rose 6 sen, or 1.5 percent, to 4.10 ringgit.

Hwang-DBS (Malaysia) Bhd. (HDBS MK ) may be active. The brokerage said second quarter profit ended Dec. 31 fell 90 percent, to 2.1 million ringgit, or 0.8 sen a share, from the same period a year ago. Hwang-DBS fell 4 sen, or 2 percent, to 1.99 ringgit.

Idris Hydraulic Bhd. (IDR MK ) may be active. The insurance and timber group said it is in talks to acquire Malaysia & Nippons Insurans Bhd. as part of a merger. Idris also said it is awaiting approval from the central bank to have discussions with The People's Insurance Co. (Malaysia) Bhd., closely held EON-CMG Life Sdn., and Pan Global Insurance Bhd. Idris was unchanged at 21.5 sen.

Ingress Corp. (INGC MK ) may be active. The automotive component maker said its unit, Ingress Autoventures Co. ltd. is in talks with Honda Motor Co. in Japan to supply components to the automaker's operations in Thailand. Ingress fell 9 sen, or 5.5 percent, to 1.55 ringgit.

Nexnews.com Bhd (NEXN MK ) may be active. The company, controlled by former banker Tong Kooi Ong, said it scrapped plans to buy stakes in Sun Media Corp. Sdn. and The Edge Communications Sdn. Nexnews.com fell 8 sen, or 2.6 percent, to 3.00 ringgit.

OSK Holdings Bhd. (OSK MK ) may be active. The stock brokerage bought back 59,000 shares for 101,171 ringgit, or between 1.70 ringgit and 1.73 ringgit a share. OSK was unchanged at 1.73 ringgit.

O.Y.L Industries Bhd. (OYL MK ) may be active. The air conditioner maker bought back 30,000 shares for 372,000 ringgit, or at 12.40 ringgit a share. O.Y.L was unchanged at 12.40 ringgit

Pan Malaysia Corp Bhd. (PMC MK ) may be active after it said it has extended an agreement to buy a 12.9 percent stake in agrochemical firm Chemical Company of Malaysia Bhd. (CCM MK ) by one month. Pan Malaysia, a maker of chocolate products and operator of department stores, was unchanged at 67.5 sen. Chemical Company rose 7 sen, or 3.7 percent, to 1.99 ringgit.

Sateras Resources (Malaysia) Bhd. (SRM MK ) may be active. The property developer denied a report from the Internet edition of The Edge weekly that it is selling its stake in closely held Kolej WIT Sdn. for 12 million ringgit ($3.2 million). Sateras rose 0.5 sen, or 2.5 percent, to 20.5 sen.

Time DotCom Bhd. (TDC MK ) may be active after state- run asset management company Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Bhd. and pension fund Kumpulan Wang Amanah Pencen said they forked out 1.17 billion ringgit to buy shares in Time dotCom from the underwriters, which picked up shares investors steered clear of. Investors last month bought only a quarter of the shares offered by Time dotCom, the poorest response for any initial public offer in the country. Time dotCom fell 1 sen, or 0.4 percent, to 2.27 ringgit.
